Love for some Honest Buns?
Eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane – Gigi Hadid
I couldn’t agree more! All the dieting was doing my body wonders but my mind was finding it harder to stay focussed. And so, my mind decided to take advantage of the blind memory spot coming up later that day at lunchtime, so that we could go off line and still keep the guilt away. Thankfully I have friends with great minds that think like me and in a matter of a few minutes we hooked up at a small cosy outlet called Honest Buns in Lokhandwala, Andheri west. Here is what we ate that my mind doesn’t seem to remember:
STRAWBERRY MOJITO (5/5) Refreshing enough to drive the afternoon heat away. Made with strawberry crush, soda and sprite. Loved it!
FERRERO MILKSHAKE (2/5) Ferrero Rocher is my fav chocoshake and somehow this wasn’t how I pictured it to be when I ordered it. It was kind of milky, more dilute than it should have been and can definitely do better with some more chocolate!
CHESSY MAGGIE STICKS (4/5) Maggie fried as crunchy sticks, infused with cheese, rolled in breadcrumbs and served with in-house exotic sauces. This was quite uniquely tasty and something I wish I could learn how to make myself for my sinful escapades….
LAVA ONION RINGS (4.5/5) Cheddar mozzarella stuffed onion rings, a higher calorie count than the regular onion rings, but nobody was counting!
MOZZARELLA FINGERS (5/5) One of the best I’ve ever tried and best eaten when served hot.
FISH FINGERS (5/5) Soft succulent fish in a crispy jacket tasted as classic as can get with its in-house sauces.
I must commend the in-house sauces at Honest Buns which were Peri Peri Mayonnaise, Homemade Barbeque sauce and Lemon herbs sauce which complimented the cheese loaded snacks just right.
DOUBLE TROUBLE MEAT OVERLOAD (4.5/5) This was a meat eater’s paradise with a chicken masala crunch and barbeque chicken patty pilled with chicken salami, sausages, friend egg, curly fries, double cheese flavour garnished with gherkins, pickled onions and cheese. I think I just touched four digits on the calorie count with this alone!!
NOT SO LOADED BUT HONEST OVERLOAD (4.5/5) This was a barbeque chicken patty piledup with chicken salami, sausages, fried egg, curly fries, a slice of American cheese. A little less sinful than my order, enjoyed by a very sensible friend.
PIZOOKIE (4.5/5) This is a yummy treat that I tried with some hot coffee. I loved the concept of marrying a brownie to a cookie, two of my besties!
My Recommendations :
1) Strawberry mojito
2) Mozzarella Fingers
3) Cheesy Maggie Sticks
4) Fish fingers
5) Overloaded burgers
Overall:
1) A “must try” for burgers, finger foods & shakes.
2) The service was five star with friendly staff. We were greeted by the Head Chef too who personally attended to our needs.
3) Prices were easy on the pocket and definitely value for money.
A great experience, that’s if you can find that calorie blind memory spot for this sinful escapade!
